Learn to organize contacts with tags, segments, and custom fields for targeted messaging.
Every conversation on your WhatsApp number is also a contact record. Ghala's CRM keeps those contacts organized so that "message all my repeat buyers in Dar" is one filter away, not an afternoon of scrolling.
Contacts land in your CRM three ways:
2557...)Only import people who have agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp. Messaging purchased or scraped lists violates WhatsApp policy and gets numbers banned; see Bulk WhatsApp Messaging for the rules.
Tags are labels you attach to contacts: vip, wholesale, arusha, august-promo. A contact can carry any number of tags.
Use tags to capture the things you actually act on:
| Tag style | Examples | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Customer value | vip, repeat-buyer, new |
Loyalty offers, priority support |
| Location | dar, arusha, mwanza |
Delivery-area announcements |
| Interest | shoes, electronics |
Product launch campaigns |
| Lifecycle | lead, customer, lapsed |
Win-back and nurture messaging |
Add or remove tags from any contact's row in the Contacts page.
Keep the vocabulary small. Ten tags everyone understands beat a hundred nobody remembers. Agree on lowercase, one-word tags and prune duplicates (VIP vs vip) as soon as they appear.
The Contacts page filters by tag, so any tag is instantly a segment: pick vip, see every VIP. Combine tagging discipline with filters and you get living segments that update themselves as you tag new customers.
Segments are where the CRM pays off:
lapsed and send a win-back campaignwholesale and announce new stock before the publicCampaigns pull from your contacts: when you create one, you add contacts from your CRM, so a well-tagged base means your audience is ready before the message is written.
